iPitchPipe is the next generation in remote tone recognition for optimal a cappella performance, instrument tuning and aural skills training. This virtual music tool plays a true, acoustic tone as produced by your favorite chromatic pitch pipe for a discreet yet reliable starter pitch.
iPitchPipe is a C-C and F-F chromatic pitch pipe application designed by an experienced music instructor. The 13 pitch wheel is easy to use. Functionality was customized to support the varied environments in which a pitch pipe may be used. For example:
* Easy touch volume control (before, during and after pitch activation)
* Quick touch start and stop of pitch
* Default pitch duration of 4 seconds - pitch will not carry on unexpectedly!
* Preferred volume level memory
* Natural pitch pipe exertion-tactful sound
To use iPitchPipe simply select the note you need by tapping one of the full octave pitches on the wheel. The pitch is usually the starting note of the musical selection or a tonic/reference note in which to tune both instruments and voices. The pitch will automatically stop within 3 seconds or to quickly stop tap the center of the wheel!
This sanitary and affordable music tool will not harden, waver in pitch nor require replacement reeds. An economic and useful resource for any musician, choral director, instructor, student or music enthusiast!
We have received some great feedback on future enhancements. Please keep the suggestions coming! All upgrades will be free!
Pros and cons of iPitchPipe app for iPhone and iPad
iPitchPipe app good for
Great to have at my finger tips when at choir practice especially during sectionals.
This is a great simple app. Im undergoing speech therapy after a total thryoidectomy that affected my speaking and singing voice. I need and was going to buy an actual pitch pipe, but I thought just for the heck of it, why dont I check and see if theres an app for that. Well I found it. I found 2 actually that I liked, but this one is the best and the one I use most often. Its always with me and handy. Good job.
Easy to use, sounds good. Suggestion: make it play even when the phone is set to silent.
Very loud, so no problem there. Good changes with the update. Would be nice if I could adjust the time (1-10 seconds, for example) that the tone played.
But still a useful app.
I lead a capella worship and forgot my pitch pipe. I remembered seeing the app on another iphone. Downloaded and it works great. No problem with volume for me, I had to turn it down.
Works exactly the way I need it to- great app for my iPod Touch- I use it when leading songs in my Church- volume can be adjusted from barely audible to loud enough for several other people to hear- and the easy start and stop of the tone is a great plus.
Some bad moments
Only two improvements needed, and one of them may be a phone limitation. I need more volume for the pitch, and I want the F-F version. Those two items and it would be 5 stars.
Ive been a customer since version 1.0 and finally the promised F-F version has arrived! However, several major issues:
1. Out of tune. The low F and high F are clearly not correctly tuned. The intervals throughout the scale have pitch inaccuracies.
2. On the F-F version, the low F to C are the exact same recorded sounds from the C-C; which would be fine except there is a clearly audible difference between those recordings and the "new" recordings from C# up to the high F.
3. For those of us who want the F-F version every time we open the app, we have to change from C-C to F-F. Next update would be great if user could select which version would open (or if it could just open to the last version used?).
Thanks!
Weve waited quite a long time for F-F, and all we get is this half-assed attempt...

All notes are sharp to varying degrees. The F on the C-C is VERY sharp. The whole thing is off. Worthless.
